Manuscript assessments
Have you written a novel? Are you looking for honest, helpful advice for improvements? Does that story in your bottom drawer need nursing back to health? I’m the author of nine novels and I love stories. I love thinking about them, tinkering with them, and working out what makes them tick. I was also a nurse for over thirty years but now I’ve shifted to caring about stories full time and I want to help you with yours.
My area of expertise is writing for children but I’ve also written novels that grownups love too. My books are published around the world and have been awarded multiple prizes including Children’s Book Council of Australia Honour Books, the Ethel Turner Prize for Young Adult Fiction, and the Readings Children’s Book Prize. I have also completed a Bachelor of Arts (Communications) with a major in Creative Writing.
What do you get when I read your manuscript? I provide a detailed report on your work, focussing on character, narrative voice, plot, setting, dialogue and overall story structure. There’s also a thirty minute chat via phone/ zoom.
How long does it take? I will give you a date to submit your work to me and I’ll have it back to you within two weeks. I promise your story will be in good hands.
